Dr. Trisha Callella is the Director of Innovation and Instruction with the Rowland Unified School District, an Apple Distinguished Educator, on the faculty of the Teacher's College for WGU, a published author, and an international speaker on transformational learning experiences and what matters in education - the learners. She was formerly the Vice President of Code to the Future and remains passionate about the learning processes involved with programming. She built a school for homeschooled middle school students that focused on entrepreneurship, STEM, and robotics across all disciplines. Trisha co-founded the Cotsen Principals' Tech Network for principals across 23 school districts in California and the Integrated Learning Institute, training principal teams in how to transform schools placing learners first that will scale. She is passionate about STEM, creative technologies, design thinking, discovery based experiential learning, and building learner agency. Her doctorate from USC is in learning sciences with research on integrated learning that resulted in building Makerspaces through design thinking in school districts.
